In 1988 the company was founded by Melissa & Doug Bernstein in the United States. The idea was born in the basement of the two and here the first wooden toys for children of any age and any gender emerged. In the meantime, Melissa & Doug has increased to an established company on the market. There are more than 200 employees in the USA and even more than 1,000 in China. The expansion happened very quickly in order to meet the demand on the market. The wooden toys of the company are characterized by high quality materials and a playing comfort for the little earth-dwellers. Realistically designed foods for the shop, fruit boxes, sandwich sets, pastry sets, birthday cakes and of course various subdivisions in canned food sets and refrigerators are available at Pirum Holzspielzeuge. The children learn playfully, how to deal with the different foods and they can imitate their parents' everyday life easily. After shopping, the food is stowed away and the preparation of the dinner can start.
