• Store dry and frost-free: Ideally, keep textile parts in a protected indoor space—e.g., basement, attic, or garage. Moisture can cause mold, and frost can damage the material.
• Clean before storing: Remove dirt, leaves, and moisture thoroughly. Dirty textiles may darken or develop unpleasant odors over winter.
• Store in a ventilated way: Do not store textiles in airtight containers. Use breathable bags or boxes to prevent mildew and musty smells.
• Take down during storms: Textile roofs or covers should be removed and safely stored during storm warnings. Strong gusts can damage or blow them away.
• Mind UV exposure: Even in winter, UV rays can fade colors. A shaded storage location significantly extends the lifespan.
• Avoid extreme temperature changes: Storage areas should be kept at a stable temperature—extreme heat or cold can make materials brittle.
